Meet the people behind the company
Based in Shrewsbury, a professional, adaptable Chartered Accountant with a wealth of experience from senior finance roles for the last 35 years in large businesses. Processes and controls, man management, business transformation, financial modelling, business reporting, business evaluation, financial due diligence and performance improvement, all rolled into an extensive CV.
My main focus now is in supporting businesses in what are best described as Part Time CFO/FD roles (commonly referred to as Fractional CFO/FD's), helping businesses help themselves and get more out of their existing systems and processes, and add an additional level of senior input into the management of the business. This includes, helping businesses put together well controlled accounting processes for the day-to-day operations, and Business Plans and cash forecasting models, built around professional financial models which are key to underpinning the credibility of the overall plan. For many small businesses they will not have the staff with the skills to do this work, and their Reporting Accountants do not usually have the operational insight to come up with an adequate solution.
Businesses may not need a full time CFO/FD, but a part time option does have much to offer and is quite often something they have never previously considered.
Remote working has really opened up the flexibility of such a role and for many businesses this is a real option for managing finances in a growing or already substantial business.
Prior to 16 years as FD / CFO of one of the UK's largest Social Care companies I held senior finance positions at the UK's largest Nursing Home Group working alongside many of the sectors most experienced executives.
The experience of helping to build successful businesses enables me to advise growing businesses on the practical aspects of developing processes and systems to support the growing enterprise. In many cases this will be helping businesses to help themselves, both in terms of systems and reporting developments, as well as the training and mentoring of staff.
I graduated from Bristol University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990.
